Peel & Holland, a division of HUB International Mid-South, was founded in 1924 and joined HUB International in 2022. Now serving Kentucky as HUB | Peel & Holland, we are a full-service agency providing property and casualty insurance, surety and bonding, family insurance, and employee benefits plans. We focus on a wide variety of industries, with significant expertise in public entity, marina, agriculture, education, construction, and healthcare. Our Kentucky-based team operates from seven regional offices, offering innovative risk management and insurance solutions for our clients. Several team members based in our Mayfield, KY location are experts in employee benefits plan design and management. Like all of our team, they strive to develop and implement customized proactive solutions to address each client’s unique risks.
Peel & Holland was founded in Benton, Kentucky in 1924 by Dwight Peel to serve local families and farmers. Peel was joined by partner Woodrow Holland in the late 1940’s. R.C. Riley, joined the company in 1965 and led the agency’s significant expansion until his retirement in 2005. R.C. was instrumental in expanding Peel & Holland’s scope of services as well as its geographic reach. Serving as the president of the Independent Insurance Agents of America, R.C. helped lead the insurance industry to meet the changing and growing demand for sound risk management practices. In the 1990’s, Peel & Holland founded its Employee Benefits and Public Entity divisions. These strategic offerings rounded out the services that clients still receive today.
In recent years, Peel & Holland received numerous Industry accolades including #1 Best Places to Work in Kentucky, Insurance Business America Top Insurance Employers, and Big I Best Practices Agency.
Sadly, in December 2021, our long-time office location in downtown Mayfield, KY was destroyed by a devastating tornado. As of 2023, our HUB | Peel & Holland team in Graves County, KY works from a temporary location. Despite the change of location, our team continues to diligently serve clients, particularly as many recover from significant loss. Our agency is committed to rebuilding the Mayfield community to be better than ever, and continues to volunteer and serve our neighbors through the process.
Now as HUB | Peel & Holland, we continue as a trusted advisor to thousands of corporate clients and families. The Kentucky region of HUB employs around 100 industry experts working from multiple regional offices. Our local leadership team believes that relationships are central to our ongoing success as part of HUB International and are committed to fostering great ones with our team, our clients, our industry, and community partners.
